Announcements:
Rick Ostrander said Miracle League starts April 25th and will continue for quite a few Saturdays except Memorial Day.  Harry Wagoner is the pitcher!
James Nevers announced the June 5th dinner extravaganza at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology.  This is a four course dinner with wines and dessert.  James only has 16 slots still open so sign up today!
Patti Smith thanked those members who will attend their local neighborhood meetings when the new picnic shelter for Waverly Park is introduced.
Joanne Primavera told us Evergreen Hospital is looking for volunteers to staff the hospital’s Gift Shop.  Also, the District Conference is coming and you can attend on the week-end of May 15-17 (breakfast, breakout sessions, dinner, etc.) for $199.  John Pruitt said first time attendees go for $100 off the price and he inadvertently booked an extra room at the hotel if you are interested.
Rich Bergdahl announced a District Leadership conference on May 2nd from 8 to 12:30 at the Mercer Island Community Center.  Rich has invited his upcoming board to attend this event.  Let Rich know if you are interested in attending.  He will buy you lunch at the Roanoke Inn right next door!
Program:
Jason Overleese introduced Jane Hague, the vice chair of the King County Council.  Jane’s presentation was titled “Money, Metro & Marijuana.”
Jane gave us an excellent overview of King County and the Council’s effort over the past few years to become more efficient.  Jane closed with a quote from Winston Churchill:  “When you run out of money, you start thinking.”
Joker Pool
Dave Aubry drew the lucky ticket but did not draw the Joker.  The pool is over $2,000 now with 9 cards left.
President John adjourned the meeting at 7:30 PM.
