First program speaker:
Carly Taylor - Student of the month from Juanita High School.
She started by sharing how grateful she is for the opportunity to experience the Rotary Club of Kirkland and it’s been exciting to learn all that Rotary does to make a difference in the community and the world.
She talked about being a high jumper in track and field and how she uses this as an analogy of how she approaches life. “Always setting the bar high and reaching for new heights”. She has been on the varsity track and field team all four years. Grew up all of her life in Kirkland in the same house and loves it here! Has a 25 yr. old brother attending college in Colorado and a 12yr old younger brother. Her parents have always encouraged family time to bond and as a result she and her brothers are very close despite the age gaps. Here younger brother’s fingers are fused together on one hand leaving him with a “claw” hand. She is inspired by him every day and his ability to not let his hand disability stand in the way. “He plays all hand dominate sports… football, basketball, and baseball, and he’s really good!” Her goal is to be a “triple threat” with acting, dancing, and singing. She’s involved in Decca and went to state last year and hoping to go to internationals this year. Ultimate goal is to open a theater for children. Her charity work includes a visit to New Orleans last year to help families’ devastated by the hurricane and plans to visit Detroit this year with her youth group. She also works locally with the homeless.

Second program speakers:
David & Amy Mutal - Classification talk.
Amy was born and grew up in Redding Ca. and moved to WA in 1980. David was born in Seattle and grew up in Bellevue WA. Their hobbies included boating, golfing, cycling, playing guitar, and their love for Seattle sports. Amy and David have done the Seattle to Portland bike ride every July for the past four years and the Seattle to Vancouver BC bike ride in August for the past two years. David and Amy formed the Kirkland based financial services firm, Prevail Wealth Management, LLC in 2012. Amy has been a financial advisor for 11 years and David is currently studying for his Series 65 and plans to begin advising clients in 2016.  They plan to continue to build Prevail while working together as a husband and wife team helping people plan for and live a successful retirement.
