Samburu Medical Camp 2020 and safety improvements at the David Alfaro Sequeiros Middle School
Bella Chaffey and Pauline Kamanja will provide Rotarians an update on the Samburu Medical Camp, operated by Gloryland Missions International, which was started with the objective of transforming the lives of street families in northern Kenya.  The Women’s Empowerment Project is designed to help women become self-sustainable and free from the practice of female genital mutilation.  In addition, Kristin Olson will update the club about a project with the Rotary Club of Costalegre, Barra de Navidad, Mexico, focused on safety improvements at the David Alfaro Sequeiros Middle School.
 
Pauline Kamanja is a member of Renton Rotary Club and a humanitarian who serves as the president and founder of Gloryland Missions International.  In 2013 Pauline started a couple of different programs through GMI: One of the programs, is called Inua Mama (Uplift Mothers) Economic Empowerent.  his program caters to homeless mothers on drugs and other vulnerable women. Empowering them to archive their goals of financial Independence and break street cycle.  Upendo (love) Daycare program caters to children, whose parents are homeless.

While in Washington, Pauline serves the homeless people of Renton by delivering meals once a week through a church. She is also a part of a group of mothers, who meet once a month to encourage each other.  She holds a certificate in counseling, chaplaincy, and Theology.
 
 
Bella Chaffey is a Real Estate Agent at Windermere and founding member of Windermere's Chaffey Real Estate Team, where she partners with her long-time home builder father, Bob Chaffey.  Bella is also the president of a nonprofit, Alexander's Hope, she founded in 2017 after her brother, Alexander, suffered from an undiagnosed and then misdiagnosed heart condition causing him to almost lose his life and require a heart transplant at the age of 19.  Alexander's Hope advocates for organ donation awareness and is a partner to the Nick of Time Foundation, which provides lifesaving heart screenings to youths to test for undiagnosed heart conditions.  Bella is also involved with her community as a member of the Rotary Club of Kirkland, and boards of the Forgotten Children’s Fund and Gloryland Missions International.
 
Kristin Olson is a member of the Rotary Club of Kirkland.
