City of Kirkland Update & Outlook

Mayor Penny Sweet will join the Rotary Club of Kirkland to update Rotarians about the impact of the coronavirus, the city's current priorities, and the city's outlook. Mayor Sweet began her first term on the Kirkland City Council in January 2010, twice served as deputy mayor, and began service as mayor with her selection at the council's January 2, 2019.  Rotarians may view the mayor's 2020 State of the City address in anticipation of the club meeting remarks and discussion.

Mayor Sweet has lived in Kirkland since 1985, served as the chair of the Market Neighborhood Association, and with her husband, Rep. Larry Springer, has owned and operated The Grape Choice, a retail wine shop in downtown Kirkland, for 34 years.  She is a member of the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce and sits on its public policy committee.
