Rotary Moment:

John Pruitt gave us a Rotary Moment reminding everyone of all the various ways Rotary, specifically our club, serves the community.  He asked each member to be sure to sign the greeting card given to each attendee, reminding us all that we will be providing Thanksgiving baskets to a number of families from John Muir Elementary.  Instead of food baskets, we will be providing each family with a gift card along with a greeting card signed by a club member.

Music4Life Gains Advertiser

Our Music4Life Chapter chair, Prof. Jocelyn Ellison, reports that Music4Life just received a free offer of advertising from the Lamar Advertising Company a couple weeks ago. The Lamar team is devoting billboard space to promote good work like that of our new Lake Washington Chapter of Music4Life. David Endicott notes that, like the piano tuning project on which the organization has embarked, the advertising partnership is a work in-progress. Music4Life ads will appear on billboards throughout the local non-profit's marketing area, from Highline to Everett.
Board Nominations For 2025-2026

The Rotary Club of Kirkland Board of Directors' nominating committee, this year comprising the vice president, Kate Koslosky, and past presidents Gary Cohn and Rick Ostrander, reported on its work to nominate a slate of officers and other directors for Rotary year 2025-2026. The committee is responsible under the bylaws for organizing a proposed slate of officers and directors for the forthcoming year. The slate will consist of the president-elect, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and members of the board of directors who are chairs of the avenues of service committees, the membership chair, and the programs chair. Normally, the president-elect automatically becomes president, and the president automatically becomes the immediate past-president. In accordance with the club's bylaws, a slate of officers should be presented to the club at the annual meeting, which occurs concurrently with the holiday party on December 16.

Need Volunteers for Meeting Duties
During the year past presidents are stepping up to preside at meetings while our president is away from club activities. Thank you to those all of the past presidents who've volunteered to lead meetings during the year. There are several other roles that are necessary for smooth conduct of our meetings, whether in-person or virtual. Please sign up for several "open" meeting duties for this year. Our club needs your contribution to make the meetings effective and enjoyable for all of our membership. The meeting responsibilities matrix is available to you in the "Members" drop-down menu on the home page of the club's website. Like the committee table, the responsibilities table is updated regularly as club members add their names to the duties throughout the year. You may click HERE to jump to the table from this article.
