The Rotary Club of Kirkland held an in-person meeting on April 21, 2025, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in the meeting hall. Past President Joanne Primavera presided at this meeting and called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.
Jocelyn Ellison led us in the 4-Way Test recitation.

Guests: Our guests this evening were Brian Granowitz, who lives nearby and is a software engineer attending the club’s meetings for the second time, and Dr. Natalie Ellington, the founder and executive director of Eileen & Callie's Place.

During the club's board of directors meeting on April 17, the board decided to try out an element of a proposed change to the club's meeting structure. Several club officers proposed changing the second meeting of the month to a social. The board approved cancellation of the virtual meeting scheduled for Monday, May 12, and the scheduling of a club social that evening. The social will be held at the Moss Bay Beer Hall, 111 Central Way in downtown Kirkland. Attendance won't be taken.
Selected Lake Washington School District staff members will be honored as Outstanding Educators for 2024-2025 by the Rotary Club of Kirkland on Monday, May 19. Earlier this year, the vocational service committee headed by Alice Volpe invited nominations from several elementary schools located in the Lake Washington High School attendance zone. The awardees, their guests, and their school administrators are invited to participate in the annual recognition dinner and ceremony, to be held at Prosecco Restaurant & Pizzeria in downtown Kirkland. Based on dues and insurance premium estimates from Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Kirkland Board of Directors has set the annual dues amount for 2025-2026. Rotarians' dues statements for 2025-2026 will be published on June 1, 2025, and are due by June 30, 2025.
