Rotary Scholar Sends Greetings

Dear Members of the Rotary Club of Kirkland,

I hope this message finds you all well. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the scholarship I was fortunate to receive from your organization two years ago. Your support has been invaluable in helping me pursue my education and personal goals, and I wanted to share some updates on how I’ve been making the most of the opportunities you’ve helped provide.

Since starting classes at Duquesne University, I have remained dedicated to academic excellence and have been on the Dean’s List every semester. I’m proud to share that I am on track to finish this semester with a 4.0 GPA. Beyond the classroom, I’ve been honored to join Sigma Kappa Sorority, where I’ve participated in philanthropic activities that align with the principles of service and leadership, like the ones shared by the Rotary. Furthermore, I have joined the Physical Therapy Club at Duquesne, where I’ve engaged with fellow physical therapy students, as well as with professionals in the field who share my passion.

This past semester has also brought some incredible opportunities. I had the privilege of presenting at the Grefenstette Center 2024 Tech Ethics Symposium, where I shared my research on the ethical implications of artificial intelligence in physical therapy. Additionally, I was thrilled to be accepted into The National Conference on Undergraduate Research, a platform that will allow me to showcase my research and connect with scholars across the country at their conference in the spring.

The scholarship I received from the Rotary Club of Kirkland, not only alleviated financial pressures but also inspired me to strive for excellence in all I do. I cannot thank you enough for the impact you’ve had on my educational journey. I would love to hear about any upcoming events or opportunities to stay connected with the Rotary Club and continue to pay forward the generosity you have shown me.

With gratitude,
Hailey Parent
