The Rotary Club of Kirkland held an in-person meeting August 18, 2025 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in downtown Kirkland.

President Kate Koslosky called the meeting to order at 6:17 p.m.  She then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Jocelyn Reiter led us in reciting the 4-Way Pledge.

Attending: David Aubry, Cody Baker, Gary Cohn, Sue Cohn, Jocelyn Ellison, Rashmi Garimella, Isabelle Kalisa, Chris Kelly-Storbeck, Kate Koslosky, Rick Ostrander, Rémy Pairault, Angela Pritchett, John Pruitt, Daniel Sada Caraveo, John Storbeck, and Rick Walter.

Guests: There were no guest names on the guest sign-in roster.

We spent some time discussing the upcoming Rotary Gala and Auction, reviewing logistics, attendance, and current items available for auction.  We encouraged obtaining more auction items and increasing the number of participants.  Everyone is encouraged to attend, participate, and bring additional folks as guests.

We then broke up into committees where we discussed planned activities for the rest of the Rotary year, and also potentially adding activities in some areas.  Some activities are pending the results of the auction and gala fundraising.

We were all reminded about bringing the approved food items at the first club get-together of each month. We were reminded that we need to adhere to the requested size parameters for each food item.

President Kate discussed several items, including the success of the recent club potluck social event at the Rotary Pavilion on the Cross Kirkland Corridor.   She reminded us that the Rotary Club of Kirkland Downtown’s Fundraiser is coming up at a winery in Woodinville.  See the Downtown Club’s website for details.  She sent an email on this earlier.

The District Conference will be in April in Walla Walla.

A Monday Social at the Kirkland Rotary Central Station
Headed up by Jocelyn Ellison (with help from her daughter up from Tucson) the Rotary Club of Kirkland had a potluck at the train depot our club help fund and build. There was so much food, and the event was well attended. President Kate got the ball rolling with “Let’s Eat!” Isabelle, Monica, Cody, John, and newest member Alesha enjoyed the food and the fellowship. Rick Ostrander sat back and quenched his thirst. These socials keep us connected and allow for a relaxing atmosphere—they occur on the second Monday of each month. Come join us!!
