The Rotary Club of Kirkland held its regular weekly meeting online on December 21, 2020.
Attending were James Nevers, Dave Aubry, Dave DeBois, George Anderson, Joanne Primavera, Russ & Tricia Stromberg, Bill Taylor, Margie Glenn, Mike Hunter, Gary Cohn, Steve Shinstrom, John Pruitt, Rich Bergdahl, Rick Ostrander, John Woodbery, Brandon Honcoop, and Dan Bartel. Let me know if I missed anyone. Let the record show that George Anderson was present at our December 14 meeting.
During January Rotary Club of Kirkland members will have the pleasure of meeting two more students of the month from Lake Washington School District high schools. On January 4, the club's guest will be Galen Heuer, a senior at Lake Washington High Schoo. On January 11, the club's guest will be Claire Charvet, a senior at Juanita High School. Please plan on joining their hosts, Mike Hunter and James Nevers, respectively, to welcome these young people to the club.
As of December 28, we are holding steady with 46 of the club’s 48 active members, or 95.8%, having paid their annual dues. There remain 2 members with dues outstanding. Club membership has not changed since the prior update, and is holding at 48. Club members may pay using the online Dues & Billing System, which requires a credit or debit card, or through the U.S. Mail by check. As of this edition of the Spokesman, only 8 members' Happy Bucks pledges, totaling $190, are outstanding. Another statement will be issued on January 1.
Rotarians may experience online payment and donation interruptions on January 16 - 17, 2021 due to the vendor's planned maintenance windows. Paya Bankcard will be performing scheduled maintenance on its firewall firmware on Saturday, January 16, 2021, between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. EST. Paya will be performing scheduled maintenance on its database systems on Sunday, January 17, 2021 between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. EST.
This holiday season Rotary identified 15 families, with 111 members, for the holiday gift-giving project. Rotarians and friends of Rotary raised over $12,000 for the gift shopping for needy children and their families. Enjoy a few photos of Rotarians preparing the holiday gifts for families.
