New Venues Considered
imageSeveral members are working on opportunities to try out a new venue as a test for a possible meeting place. Nearly a dozen Rotarians met on March 24 for dinner at Prosecco Restaurant & Pizzeria in downtown Kirkland's Marina Park and enjoyed the experience. Jocelyn Ellison and other club members involved in the Prosecco dinner will present details on the question of meeting at the restaurant during the April board of directors meeting. Club members may check out the restaurant's menu by clicking HERE.

Scott Becker has reconnected with the owner of the Moss Bay Beer Hall, who he reports is very amenable to the club holding meetings at the Hall. The meeting room on the southwest side of the restaurant space, in which the club met numerous times in years past, is available for Monday night use. The owner indicates there is no longer a minimum food or alcohol purchase required. Food may be ordered individually by attendees, or a buffet may be arranged. Club members may check out the Moss Bay Beer Hall's menu by clicking HERE.

Rotarians may recall that the club conducted several surveys of members regarding preferences for club meetings. Here are the links to the summary reports:
Rotary's Four-Way Test
Club Social on May 12
During the club's board of directors meeting on April 17, the board decided to try out an element of a proposed change to the club's meeting structure. Several club officers proposed changing the second meeting of the month to a social. The board approved cancellation of the virtual meeting scheduled for Monday, May 12, and the scheduling of a club social that evening. The social will be held at the Moss Bay Beer Hall, 111 Central Way in downtown Kirkland. Attendance will not be taken.
April 2025 Board Meeting Highlights
The club’s board of directors met on Thursday evening, April 17, 2025 at the Banner Bank branch in downtown Kirkland. Highlights included approval of the basic agreement with the foundation on details of the fall auction as the major fundraiser, discussing an alternative meeting structure, approval of the meeting schedule, and adoption of the dues for 2025-2026.

Auction committee co-chair Cody Baker and foundation president John Pruitt reported on the agreement to direct all of the proceeds from the auction to club for allocation by the club's board of directors. This is a significant change from the arrangement during prior years.
