President Rachel called April 28th 2008 Kirkland Rotary Club meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  John Overleese led our Flag Salute, while Don Dicks was our greeter.

 

Visiting Rotarians:         Don Dicks introduced Terry Cole of the Redmond Rousers.

 

Student:            Pascal Weber, our exchange student from Switzerland, recounted his past week's activities for us.

Announcements:          

            Miracle League starts this Saturday, May 3, at Kirkland Boys and Girls Club. Plan on being there from 9:30-11:00.  More volunteers are needed-contact Katherine Kehrli at 425-260-7979 or email at kkehrli@4PACE.com .

            Patti Smith is looking for door prize donations for our June 9th Golf Tournament at Mt.Si.  We need 10-15 items to put in bags for each player.

            Cheryl Bloodworth announced the May 7th Duck Dash Launch Party at the Wilde Rover, 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

            Alice Volpe announced we need signups to sell Duck Dash Tickets on Mother's Day weekend.  Signups will be at the next meeting.

            Don Dicks announced the 5th Annual Kirkland Artist Studio Tour May 10-11, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, downtown Kirkland.  Come see what the local artists are doing.

            A reminder to bring used cell phones in to reissue to our service men and women, to be used to make calls home. Bring to the meeting next week.  Sponsored by Seattle 4.

 

Club Assembly:

 

Bob Webb discussed many topics he is working on for next year.  We all received a questionnaire pertaining to goals and direction for 2008-2009.  Please fill these out and return, as this will give Bob and his Board valuable information for next year.

Bill Taylor presented the current plans for the GPS Duck Dash and Old Fashioned Picnic on July 4th, 2008, at JuanitaBeachPark.

May 7th-Ticket Distribution starts and Launch Party at Wilde Rover, 5:00-7:00 PM, all invited.

May 10th-June 29th Sales Venues.

May 10th -June 15th Group Sale.

June 30th Branding Party-Lee Johnson Chevrolet-6:00 PM.

Race Day:       

Float  Decorations-Shinstrom's-10:00 AM.

Parade and Picnic Sales- 9:00 AM-3:00 PM.

Parade and Rotary Float-Noon-1:15 PM.

Picnic-1:00 PM-5:00 PM.

Duck Dash Race-4:00 PM.

Winners Posted-5:00PM.

Race/Picnic Celebration Party-6:00 PM at Wilde Rover.
