The annual Kirkland Rotary holiday party was once again held at the beautiful Broadmoor Golf & Country Club.  A special thanks to GG Getz and Vernell Sutherland for organizing this wonderful event.  Without their hard work and planning this event would not have happened.

While there was no official meeting there was one important announcement.  Our own Chuck Morgan will once again be playing Clara's Grandfather in the International Ballet Theatre's annual tradition, The Nutcracker Ballet.  Chuck will be seen in all 13 shows.  Also, Brian Tucker's daughter Maddy will be playing Clara in select performances opposite Chuck or should I say he will be playing opposite of Maddy :-) .  What a treat.  The play is at the Kirkland Performance Center from December 8-10 & at the Meydenbauer Center December 15-17 & 21-23.  Maddy will be on 12/8 (7:30) & 12/9 (2:00) at the KPC and various times in Bellevue.

After a wonderful dinner we were treated to a raucous round of table "Name that Tune".  Some tables were better suited and up to the naming challenge based on prior and or current occupations of certain members (Jack Bloodworth!!!).  In the end it came down to a dance off between the two winning tables.  From this observers view none of the members should give up their day jobs!!!.

Following the reindeer games we were treated to an amazing swing dance performance and lesson.  Many member took part and are now better suited to rip up the hardwoods.

Dancing continued into the night courtesy of Jack Danforth's Niece and Nephew that were up from Arizona to provide the evenings entertainment.

As the final surprise of the evening our ever present Capt. John Tuttle made an inspiring appearance as Saint Nick and road in on his 12 tiny reindeer.  He did a masterful rendition of the "Twas the Night Before Christmas" that was as memborable as it was forgetful. It was a sight seen by a few but known by all.

And as he sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like a super sonic missile.  But I heard him exclaim, as he blew out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Happy Holidays from your editor in chief Steve...
