Miracle League was formed to offer disabled kids the opportunity to play league baseball, and provide an opportunity for the parents to just watch their kids have fun. It is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Kirkland and Redmond, and Boeing Employee Recycling Program, the provider of uniforms for each child.

A Rotarian Buddy is matched with each player and helps with batting, fielding, and running the bases.  Every player bats and runs the bases each inning, and, each plays in the field.  Parents bring their lawn chairs and watch the fun.

The effect of our efforts is summed up by one of the past participants in Miracle League:

Baseball is great and I want to play it so much.  But it’s hard for me; sometimes it can be too tough.  I’d give anything just to come up to the plate and swing.  Then I heard about a really cool things coming to our town.  They’re gonna build a field so kids like me can get around.… It’s a miracle to me, I’m playing baseball! …..Looks like I’m living the dream cause I’m playing on “The Miracle League!”
