The Kirkland Rotary Club meeting of June 21, 2010 began at 6:35 p.m. and was led by President, Jim Feek.  

 

Alice Volpe led the Pledge

 

Inspiration :  Rich Bergdahl talked about a woman who told him to have a 'good life.'  This comment was very fulfilling to him.  He wanted us to know that positive comments to strangers may be a comment that makes a difference in their lives.

Visiting Rotarians :  Pat Fleese, Pediatric Dentist; Vicky Nollette, Banker, Redmond; Doug Piccati, Construction, Yakima

 

Guests :  Many wives, a couple of children, and one mother-in-law.

Patti Marsh was present, but Jerry could not make it.

Ernie McGibbons sent his wishes.

David Dubois brought a friend, Alex Morris.

 

Announcements :

DUCK DASH VENUES - Still need volunteers for the Markets, QFC, and Metropolitan Market - contact Rick Ostrander (425) 822-9509

BRANDING PARTY - June 28, 6:00 p.m. at Lee Johnson Chevrolet, Mazda, Kia

            The ducks would have flown in from Wenatchee to be branded

            Pizza, Soft Drinks and water, and Cookies will be served afterwards

JULY 4TH PARADE - Meet at Steve's parents' home to decorate the vehicles

Need Rotarians to march in the Parade
JULY 4TH DUCK RACE - Need everyone to help sell duck adoptions, help with the race itself.  Need 1-2 Livingston Boats and leaf blowers..Might not have booms so if anyone has any ideas of how to contain the ducks, call or email Bob Webb:  (206) 660-9423; bob_webb1@msn.com
JULY 4TH FIREWORKS - Rotary gave $1,000.  The committee raised $65,000 - so fireworks are a 'go.'
MOMMA DUCK - Sarah ( sarahmbrooks@gmail.com ) needs a volunteer for the 4th.  You will sell more tickets if you wear the duck costume and you will stay warm.
