John Pruitt and David Aubry, president and secretary of the Kirkland Rotary Foundation, present a check for $12,420 to Isabelle Kalisa, director of community partnerships of HERO House NW as a part of the grant program funded largely by the foundation's gala and auction last fall. Mr. Aubry announced that the foundation had raised over $13,000 at the event, and the foundation board added $10,000 to the total, providing three grant recipients over $23,000 this year. Foundation president John Pruitt explained that club members, who are also foundation members, voted to determine which three worthy organizations would receive grants this year, and in proportion to the votes received at the annual event.
