PROGRAM: President Margie Burnett, Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club (BBRC)

Margie spoke about a project that her Club is passionate about which is working with DSHS to bring prospective adopting parents and children available for adoption together at an Adoption Party. She showed a Powerpoint and video of a recent party in which DSHS had suggested 20 children and prospective parents were invited that had already passed DSHS qualifications for adopting. Margie indicated the process humanizes the children in a more relaxed and natural environment without the usual stress that occurs in a one-on-one adoption setting. A few other Clubs in the area have indicated an interest to also hold an Adoption Party.

President Jim thanked all the speakers for their presentations and reminded the members of the important November dates.  The lucky ticket was drawn by Alice Volpe but she was not as lucky in guessing the correct number.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
