Bill Taylor, AG, introduced District Governor Don Gregory for the official visit.

DG Don started with a commercial for the District Assembly in the Tri Cities for the weekend of My 16 to 18 with a pre meeting golf challenge, inter district, with proceeds for the RI Foundation.  Additionally, DG Don announced the RI conference in LA.  Please check the RI website for meeting and housing details.

DG Don then commenced to explain this year's Rotary theme for "Rotary Shares".  This includes all ranges from personal service to working on projects overseas via the foundation.

DG Don shared a dream he has, and feels it is shared by other Rotarians.  This consists of a world in peace, polio free, no illiteracy and with clean and safe drinking water for everyone.  There many ways to share this dream from matching grants to sponsoring an ambassadorial scholar.

DG Don then explained our six district projects, what they are and how they came about.  These are also ways to be involved.

DG Don quoted RI Past President Bill Boyd on membership.  "The true path to growing Rotary membership is making Rotary work properly which will then attract new members and grow Rotary."

DG Don outlined his goals for the year on Foundation, which include Every Rotarian Every Year.  The end result if we can achieve this is the increase in funding for World Understanding and Peace through our Rotary foundation.  This includes the Paul Harris Society, the annual sustaining member, the annual double sustaining member and the Bequest Society.  The goal this year for our District is to bring in net two new members and to contribute $1,000,000.00 to the RI foundation, because in 3 years 60% of these funds will return to our district.

DG Don thanked club for its work and to continue our fine record.

President Rachel thanked DG D. Gregory for his talk and presented him with a book to sign which be presented to the library of John Muir elementary.

The night chance was then undertaken with Sharon Gregory lending the honors.  The winning number was Alice Volpe, 1385, but alas the elusive duck # 3 requested was instead duck # 5.  The pot grows.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Gary Bruner, Scribe
