SPEAKER

Our speaker for the evening, introduced by Patti Smith, is Kevin Nalder , new Kirkland Fire Chief/Director

Key points: Because of the Annexation N. Finn Hill (Station 4) and Finn Hill (Station 25) will merge.  Service to a Woodinville Station will be under Kirkland Fire but the details still need to be worked out/bargained.

Kirkland Fires ISO compliance is currently at a 4 on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the highest rating.  Bellevue is a 2.  The lower the score the better off citizens will be due to lower home owner insurance ratings.

Kirkland fire supports all new housing to be fitted with sprinkler systems.  Builders don't like it because it adds costs to construction.  Current regulations require only new homes 5000 sqft or larger must have sprinkler systems, homes that are older are grandfathered and exempt from this regulation.

73% of Kirkland Fire Station calls are EMS/Rescue related only 4% are actual fires.

HONEY POT/ADJOURN

Rick Ostrander held the lucky ticket but alas, did not guess the lucky number!   So the pot grows - better luck next time, Rick!

President Jim reviewed all the above announcements again, and adjourned the meeting at 7:45pm with the final announcements:

Duck Dash Committee has only one member - Scott Rethke.  Jim asks for 3 more volunteers to be on the committee or he may cancel the duck dash all together for 2010.

Steve Shinstrom - Was going to provide a PowerPoint instruction on how to log into Club Runner and use the email system. Instead he will be sending out an email with instructions.

Past Presidents Luncheon is Oct 11th.

Faithfully submitted,
