Theme is Baseball's Fall Classic in honor of the World Series which will be starting right around this time frame. So get your baseball items together and come for a dog or burger!!!

Pat again - Operation Warm Coats (Pat Dye/M. A. Burleigh) - Help distribute coats to children at John Muir (October 2nd) Pat and Mary Alyce need 6 people but 10-12 would be better. There was a showing of hands during the meeting and they met the number of Rotarians needs. There is a specific organized process to distribute the coats so please contact Pay or Mary Alyce for specific instructions and details. Donuts will be provided and Steve Brown woke up when the donuts were mentioned. Location: 14012 132nd NE,
Mary Alyce Burleigh - The yellow sheet titled "Rotary Club Of Kirkland Community Service Committee" was distributed at each table. It outlined each community service committee chair. She emphasized the need to help distribute coats to children.

Our speaker for the evening, introduced by Patti Smith, is Kevin Nalder , new Kirkland Fire Chief/Director
Key points: Because of the Annexation N. Finn Hill (Station 4) and Finn Hill (Station 25) will merge. Service to a Woodinville Station will be under Kirkland Fire but the details still need to be worked out/bargained.
Kirkland Fires ISO compliance is currently at a 4 on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the highest rating.
73% of Kirkland Fire Station calls are EMS/Rescue related only 4% are actual fires.

President Jim reviewed all the above announcements again, and adjourned the meeting at
Duck Dash Committee has only one member - Scott Rethke. Jim asks for 3 more volunteers to be on the committee or he may cancel the duck dash all together for 2010.
Steve Shinstrom - Was going to provide a PowerPoint instruction on how to log into Club Runner and use the email system. Instead he will be sending out an email with instructions.
Past Presidents Luncheon is Oct 11th.
