Sarah Olson serves as the Kirkland Public Works Deputy Director of Engineering, Planning and Development Services. In this role, Sarah supports developing a safer transportation system, resilient and healthy surface water management, advancing policies to strengthen utilities, and fostering safe private development to support Kirkland’s growth and sustainability goals. She oversees coordination with the I-405 Improvement projects, NPDES Permit compliance, and implementation of the Transportation and Surface Water Strategic Plans. With more than 25 years in public service, Sarah prioritizes community engagement and environmental resilience, ensuring our public spaces and services meet the evolving needs of a vibrant community. Sarah holds a Masters in Public Administration and enjoys walking, urban hiking, and family bike rides.
