President Rachel opened the May 19 2008 meeting at 6:25PM

Announcements:  Reminder to pick-up from Bill Taylor Friday 5/23 7:00-8:00 or 5/27 7:00-8:00 at the Park Place Starbucks and sell Duck Dash tickets no weekend  site sales this coming weekend.

Dr. Sharon Mc Gavick  President of Lake WashingtonTechnical  College

     

Dr McGavick spoke of the history of the school (founded in 1948) and became a college in 1991. The school's mission" Is to train and prepare people for the work place".

 

The school is applying for a four Baccalaureate Status to raise it to the ranks of a Technological Institute.

 

The school is very proud of it's 300+ student s enrolled in it's Multimedia and Graphics program.

 

25% of students applying to the 5000 student school have already obtained a degree but are looking for new and more applicable skills
