Joanne Primavera

3rd Female President of our club, and renowned pie baker.

Born 9/17/1940 above her Italian immigrant family's retail store, Joanne learned early on the importance of good service. After many retail jobs she completed a degree at WesternUniversity, and inter alia worked as a lab assistant, a home economics teacher (10 years) and recently as a guardian ad litem attorney. She likened her current job to a world of soap operas but she really enjoys the court process. Joanne has a PhD. in Vocational Leadership and graduated from law school at age 52.

Neither of her two husbands liked to work.

Dan Bartel

Ex president of Kirkland Rotary, 1985 - helped to launch the Duck Dash, Bunko, the 4th of July picnic. Recently turned 60

Dan spent 2 years as a Practice Management Consultant and 3 years ago became a Mortgage Consultant to a broker firm. The average loan is turned over every 2 ½ years, and among a variety of new products offered are 30- 50 year loans. Our local market is scheduled to stay strong.

As a "military brat" Dan moved a lot, but of his 33 years of marriage he and Wilma have lived in their home for 32 years. They have 2 children..Erin and Beth and have hosted 5 exchange students from Denmark/France/Germany/Switzerland/Brazil

Dan enjoys fly fishing, photography and hiking. His best friends are from the Rotary Community.

John Woodbery

Ex President (2x) of the TotemLake morning Rotary. Birth date 8/30

His peaceful demeanor is just a cover for an aggressive trial lawyer. John has a passion for representing his clients, as demonstrated by 3 cases : the one he lost but should have won, the one he won but should have lost, the one he won but should have won.....you had to be there!

Johns other passion in life is writing...poetry, short stories and books.

A survivor of the Arizona in Pearl Harbor invited John to become a Rotarian.

Chuck Morgan

Ex president in 1958 Chuck was born 9/9/1911 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up on a farm in Michigan (does NOT want to be a farmer) and completed high school in Grand Rapids. At the University of Michigan he studied Civil Engineering and switched to Journalism. He worked for a newspaper in order to be of service to his community. His parents were great role models. Chuck is a romanticist who puts women on a pedestal (way to go Chuck). He was a bootlegger in his university days, and learned to control a bad temper. He shared two stories, of a trip to Alaska by sea, and adventures with a dog sled team.

Part two (after the 1940's) will have to come later.

Chuck has 2 sons and 5 great grandchildren. He has had great satisfaction from living his dream.

Fines were contributed by all 4 ex presidents for running out of time!

Drawing: Our guest Sheryl Bloodworth had the lucky ticket but not the lucky marble. Her name was entered into the mysterious 2nd chance drawing that we hear so much about.

We adjourned - late I think
