Rotary Club of Kirkland
Monday, June 3, 2019 Meeting
President Rick Walter called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  Terry Cole led us in the Pledge.
No guests were present at this meeting.
  • Miracle League has one more game on June 8th.  The morning Rotary Club will provide a BBQ.  Please volunteer for this last game of the season and show up at Perrigo Park at 10:00 AM.
  • Steve Shinstrom asked for volunteers to be in the parade on July 4th.
  • Our Club had a presence at the Attain Housing bicycle race last weekend and introduced Rotary to a lot of people.
  • District Conference was great!  Lots of fun, so plan on attending next year in Seattle.
  • James Nevers outlined the plans for our Duck Dash on July 28th as part of Summerfest.  Get your Duck Adoption tickets from Rick Ostrander and be ready to participate in the many venues being set up at QFC and the Wednesday Market.
New Member Induction
President Rick inducted Gary Cohen and Margie Glenn into the Club.  All members stood and welcomed both into our Club!
Margie Glenn, our newest member, gave an overview of her life.  She is an accountant and has been involved in mortgage arrangements for several years.  She is happy to be in Kirkland and looks forward to helping us with our many projects.
Gary Cohen also gave a brief overview of his career as first a teacher, then an administrator, and now the superintendent of Everett Public Schools.  He’s happy to be back in Kirkland and a member of our Club.
Happy Dollars
There was time for lots of happiness from our members!
President Rick adjourned the meeting at 7:30 PM.
